About the role#
The Mosaic Company is seeking an Electrical Engineering intern for a full-time summer co-op position. This role provides an opportunity to work on electrical engineering projects and management tasks within an industrial mining environment. You will work 36 to 40 hours per week and collaborate with management, plant operators, engineers, and contractors.
What you'll do#
- Lead or support electrical power system reliability improvement projects.
- Participate in root cause failure analysis and execute corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot electrical power system issues, including equipment failures, power outages, and electrical faults.
- Perform software-based electrical power system modeling, including data collection and field verification.
- Analyze existing electrical preventative maintenance plans and develop or implement new strategies.
- Participate in department meetings and project-specific briefings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering, having reached at least third-year status by May 2027.
- A minimum GPA of 2.7.
- Fundamental knowledge of electrical theory, including AC distribution and transformation, AC/DC motor control, and power, analog, or digital electronics.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license for travel between sites.
- Ability to work in an industrial, occasionally outdoor, environment with exposure to varying temperatures.
- 1-2 years of experience through volunteering, student organizations, or previous work is preferred.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, climb stairs, and work at various heights.

- Term: Summer 2027 (May 10, 2027, to August 20, 2027).
- Modality: On-site, full-time.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
- Requirements: Selected candidates must successfully complete a background check, drug and alcohol screening, and a physical functional capacity examination.
