About the role#
The Process Engineer Co-Op/Intern role at Mosaic Potash Colonsay provides hands-on experience in an industrial mining environment. You will work alongside professional engineers to support mill process improvements, assist with process modeling, and contribute to ongoing site initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to develop technical skills in process optimization while gaining insight into large-scale potash production.
What you'll do#
- Support mill process improvements and assist with process modeling.
- Conduct field checks and contribute to system validation for new projects.
- Support KPI reviews by gathering data and aligning metrics with production targets.
- Participate in site safety initiatives, including near-miss reporting and risk reduction projects.
- Develop and implement production monitoring dashboards.
- Communicate and collaborate with plant operators, engineers, tradespersons, and management.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical, or Process Engineering, with third-year standing or higher by January 2027.
- Minimum academic average of 72%.
- Ability to work full time while maintaining student standing.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- 1-2 years of experience through volunteering, school organizations, or previous work is preferred.
- Ability to work in an industrial, outdoor, or mining environment, including the physical capacity to climb stairs, work at heights, and wear a respirator.
- Must be able to work rotating shifts, including 12-hour shifts and overtime as required.
- Successful completion of pre-placement screenings, including drug and alcohol testing, background check, and physical examination.
