    About the role#

    This internship at the Aluminerie de Deschambault supports the technical team within the casting center. You will assist with process monitoring and optimization tasks. After an initial training period, you will work with autonomy to interact with operators, manage projects, and communicate with various departments including IT and electrolysis.

    What you'll do#

    • Support the technical team in managing scrap and waste.
    • Analyze results and propose improvements for energy consumption.
    • Participate in the analysis and implementation of best practices for metal cleanliness.
    • Perform troubleshooting and analysis for off-specification casting runs.
    • Develop tools using the PI data historian to improve process tracking.
    • Assist with ongoing projects and support health and safety compliance.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Chemical, Metallurgical, or Biotechnological Engineering program.
    • Initiative, teamwork skills, and clear communication abilities.
    • Autonomy in managing your own tasks and interacting with site personnel.
    • Knowledge of PI data historian applications is an asset.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Deschambault, Quebec, Canada.
    • Term: Winter 2027.
    • Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, day shift.
    • Compensation: Paid position with a salary range of $29 to $33 per hour based on your year of study.
    • Perks: Potential housing stipend of $600 for those living outside the region, access to an on-site cafeteria, and medical services. All necessary personal protective equipment is provided.
