    About the role#

    As an engineering intern in the electrolysis sector, you will work directly with technicians and process engineers. You will support the team in monitoring and optimizing the electrolysis process at the Deschambault smelter. This role offers frequent opportunities to work on the plant floor, conduct experimental data collection, and test new procedures. You will be fully integrated into the technical team and encouraged to share your ideas.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist with process monitoring, troubleshooting, and project implementation.
    • Develop tools to detect process failures and improve efficiency.
    • Support the deployment of information technologies including PI and Power BI.
    • Collect experimental data to analyze process variables.
    • Attend technical meetings and optimization committees to discuss metal quality and cross-sector operations.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, industrial, or metallurgical engineering.
    • Proficiency in Excel.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Strong sense of autonomy and a collaborative team mindset.
    • Knowledge of PI applications is an asset.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Deschambault, Quebec, Canada.
    • Term: Winter 2027 (starts January 11, 2027).
    • Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
    • Compensation: Paid position, ranging from $29 to $33 per hour depending on your year of study.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Benefits: Includes a $600 relocation allowance for those from outside the region, access to a medical service, on-site cafeteria, and provided personal protective equipment.
