About the role#
This is a full-time internship for the Winter 2027 session at the Alcoa aluminum smelter in Baie-Comeau. You will work under the supervision of the technical section head to provide support across various foundry operations.
What you'll do#
- Optimize process parameters for aluminum preparation and casting.
- Monitor the performance of production equipment.
- Develop and implement test plans for new equipment.
- Perform liquid metal sampling for quality analysis.
- Analyze the causes of process rejects.
- Provide technical support to foundry operations.
- Assist technical process advisors with various tasks.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in chemical or metallurgical engineering.
- Ability to work well within a team.
- Strong communication skills.
- Initiative and autonomy in your work.
Location & details#
- Location: Baie-Comeau, Quebec, Canada.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, day shift.
- Compensation: $29 to $33 per hour, depending on your year of study.
- Housing: A $600 housing stipend may be available if you do not live in the region.
- Support: You will receive comprehensive training upon arrival, all necessary personal protective equipment, and access to on-site medical services.
