About the role#
This internship takes place at our Contrecoeur-Est steel mill during the Winter 2027 session. You will work directly with our mechanical engineering team to apply your academic knowledge in a practical, industrial environment.
What you'll do#
- Support the mechanical planner in creating planning tools.
- Assist the mechanical maintenance coordinator and the mechanical reliability engineer.
- Help the maintenance team execute work during weekly, annual, and planned shutdowns.
- Participate in improvement projects involving mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Perform other related tasks as required.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a university degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- General knowledge of mechanics.
- Ability to read and draw mechanical diagrams.
- Strong analytical skills and a sense of autonomy.
- Comfortable communicating with technical and operational staff.
- Functional English skills.
- Commitment to health and safety by following the 10 Golden Rules of ArcelorMittal.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or unionized environment is an asset.
