About the role#
The Mosaic Company is hiring a Mechanical Integrity Engineer Co-Op or Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site at one of our potash mine locations in Saskatchewan. This is a full-time, paid position running from May 10, 2027, to August 20, 2027. You will join our team to improve plant stationary assets and document the condition of our existing equipment.
What you'll do#
- Investigate equipment failures to find root causes and develop corrective actions.
- Inspect the condition of structures, bins, piping, and tanks.
- Perform design assessments using hand calculations or computer modeling.
- Use problem-solving techniques like RCA, 8-step, and 5 Why to troubleshoot issues.
- Evaluate equipment against design specifications and validate modifications.
- Mine historical data and drawings to support asset integrity decisions.
- Identify maintenance process deficiencies and develop improvements.
- Communicate with management, plant operators, engineers, tradespeople, and contractors.
- Participate in department and project meetings.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial Systems Engineering (third year or above by May 2027).
- A GPA of 72% or higher.
- 1-2 years of experience through volunteering, student organizations, or previous work.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to work in a team.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license for travel between sites.
- Ability to work full time and maintain student status during the term.
- Capacity to work in an industrial mining environment, including occasional outdoor work in varying temperatures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 lbs, climbing stairs, and working at heights.
- Must pass pre-placement screenings, including drug and alcohol testing, background checks, and physical examinations.

- Modality: On-site, full-time, typically 36-40 hours per week.
