About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Operations Engineering Co-op/Intern position based in Bartow, Florida. The role runs from May 11 to August 21, 2027. You will work on-site, typically 36 to 44 hours per week, and may follow a 9/80 schedule. This role provides technical support to plant operations teams.
What you'll do#
- Identify and resolve root causes of issues in phosphoric acid production systems.
- Evaluate and improve the performance of unit operations in the Phosphoric Acid department.
- Observe plant turnaround outages and take part in equipment inspections.
- Help develop and implement digital tools for operations.
- Communicate with diverse groups, including plant operators, engineers, maintenance staff, and contractors.
- Attend department and project-specific meetings.
- Adhere to company mission, guiding principles, and safety priorities.
What you'll need#
- Junior standing or higher by January 2027, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum 2.75 GPA.
- Basic computer skills and experience working in a team environment.
- Ability to work full time while maintaining student status.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- Previous internship or co-op experience, and familiarity with an industrial environment, are preferred.
- Ability to pass post-offer screenings, including a drug and alcohol test, background check, physical, and functional capacity exam.
- Ability to wear a respirator, climb stairs, work at heights, and lift up to 25 lbs.
