About the role#
Covia is hiring an Operations Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a paid, part-time position based on-site at one of our production facilities. You will work directly with our staff to learn the daily requirements of running a successful plant while contributing to an assigned project.
What you'll do#
- Follow all safety principles, including MSHA regulations, industrial hygiene, and workplace inspections.
- Collaborate with Mine, Plant, Quality Control, Environmental, and Maintenance supervisors to understand our core processes. This includes learning about drilling, blasting, grinding, flotation, screening, and equipment maintenance.
- Assist salaried staff with technical problems and specific projects.
- Gain experience with data management, reporting, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform other operational duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, such as mechanical, industrial, chemical, or mining.
- You have a clear interest in building a career in operations.
- You demonstrate logical thinking and analytical skills.
- You communicate effectively in writing and in person.
- You are comfortable working within a diverse group dynamic.
