About the role#
This Geology Co-op position is based in the Elk Valley of British Columbia. You will work on-site for an 8 or 12 month term starting in January 2027. This is a full-time, paid role where you will support field exploration and mine operations.
What you'll do#
- Identify and stake coal seams and collect coal samples.
- Complete geophysical logging and surveys of production drill holes.
- Assist with geological modelling deliverables using specialized software.
- Operate UAVs and drones to fly coal seam headings and conduct surveys.
- Participate in health and safety programs.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Geology, and Mine Operations teams.
- Support field exploration through planning and project management.
What you'll need#
- Working towards an Undergraduate degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or Geochemistry.
- A valid Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent, without learner's restrictions.
- Ability to operate vehicles in various weather conditions and terrain.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
