About the role#
The Mine Technical Services Associate Co-op Intern supports various mine engineering functions, including planning, scheduling, surveying, ventilation, and ground control. Reporting to the Supervisor, Mine Engineering, this role focuses on developing best practices and technical processes to meet operational targets while maintaining a strong culture of safety and health.
What you'll do#
- Create professional short to medium-term planning strategies and provide execution guidance.
- Develop and assist with medium-term ventilation strategies to meet short-term requirements.
- Analyze operational data and provide technical documentation to support decision-making.
- Assist in maintaining Ground Control standards through fieldwork and analysis.
- Engage with business partners across the organization to identify and implement operational improvements.
- Manage reports on performance and devise strategies to address deficiencies.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Mine or Geological Engineering with at least two years of completed education.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize duties.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with teams at all levels.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Possession of a security screening document as per The Mines Regulations, 2018, which must be maintained throughout employment.
Location & details#
- This is an 8-month, full-time, paid co-op internship.
- The position is based on-site at a remote camp with a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off schedule.
- Fly-in, fly-out service is provided with pick-up points in Saskatoon, Prince Albert, and La Ronge, Saskatchewan.
- Successful candidates must pass drug and alcohol substance testing as a condition of employment.
