About the role#
SSR Mining Inc. is seeking a Geology Intern or Coop Student to join the Seabee Gold Operation. This role provides hands-on experience in a remote mining environment, requiring a 2-week on, 2-week off rotation. You will work across multiple settings, including a core shack, outdoor sites, underground, and office environments. This is a physically demanding position that requires the ability to carry rock samples for extended periods.
What you'll do#
- Provide field-level support to surface Resource Development Geologists through core logging, sampling, mapping, and sample processing.
- Monitor surface drilling operations to ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and program execution parameters.
- Assist underground Resource Development Geologists with tasks such as face sampling, back mapping, and core logging.
- Provide data entry support in the office.
- Support the broader Resource Development, Technical Services, and Mine Operations teams, including assisting with survey, ventilation, mine planning, and rock mechanics as needed.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Geology degree program or a Mine/Geological Engineering degree or diploma program.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- High attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English with all levels of the organization.
- Previous experience with surface exploration programs or underground mining is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with Leapfrog, MX Database, or similar geological modeling software is considered an asset.
Location & details#
- Location: Seabee Gold Operation, approximately 500km northeast of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
- Travel: Fly-in, fly-out service provided with pickup points in Saskatoon, Prince Albert, and La Ronge.
- Requirements: Successful completion of drug and alcohol substance testing is mandatory for all positions.
