About the role#
The Applied Process Technology (APT) Engineer Co-Op/Intern will support the innovation portfolio at The Mosaic Company. This role involves engineering support for new product development, pilot plant design, and chemical processing. This is a paid, full-time position for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Lead innovative engineering projects and improvement activities across mining and concentrate processes.
- Conduct feasibility studies on new technologies to drive improvements in processing and product development.
- Engage with personnel across all levels, including management, plant operators, engineers, tradespersons, and contractors.
- Participate in and direct research activities in both laboratory settings and full-scale industrial operations.
- Collaborate with functional groups to share learnings and build professional networks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior or above by Jan/May 2027 in a bachelor's program for Chemical, Mechanical, Mining, or Industrial Engineering.
- A minimum GPA of 2.75.
- Ability to function effectively in an industrial chemical and mining environment.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license for travel between sites.
- 1-2 years of experience through volunteering, student organizations, or work is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 25 lbs, climbing stairs, and working in varied outdoor temperatures.
- Must be able to wear a respirator and meet physical requirements for an industrial site.
Location & details#
- Location: FishHawk site in Lithia, Florida, with travel to other Florida sites as needed.
- Term: May 10, 2027, to August 20, 2027.
- Modality: On-site, full-time (36-40 hours per week).
