About the role#
As an Analytical Lab Intern, you will work within our corporate laboratory to gain hands-on experience in food product analysis. You will operate analytical equipment for various food categories, including GC or LC, pH, Aw, viscosity, color, protein, moisture, and density. This role involves managing an individual research project, which you will present at the end of the summer, and collaborating with cross-functional groups to solve analytical challenges.
What you'll do#
- Perform laboratory projects and document results in company databases.
- Support general laboratory upkeep, inventory management, and ISO 17025 Certification tasks.
- Apply chemistry skills to support business objectives.
- Communicate with R&D, Sensory, Corporate Quality, and Manufacturing teams.
- Build professional relationships with other interns and staff members.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in college.
- Coursework in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, or a related field.
- A strong background in chemistry and mathematics.
- Prior general laboratory experience.
- Proficiency with computers.
Location & details#
- Location: Orrville, Ohio.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Work Modality: Hybrid, with a minimum of 4 days per week on-site.
- Compensation: Paid position, $21.50 to $25.00 per hour depending on year of college completed.
- Additional Support: Housing stipend provided for interns who relocate for the program.
