About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to gain experience within the accounting and finance organization at The J.M. Smucker Co. You will work across various departments, including financial reporting, plant finance, supply chain finance, tax, and internal audit. Interns receive personalized training and contribute to projects alongside analysts, managers, and directors to develop a broad understanding of corporate finance.
What you'll do#
- Perform journal entries and reconciliations.
- Assist with financial statement preparation and tax compliance.
- Conduct financial planning and forecasting.
- Provide audit support.
- Perform item and customer profitability analysis.
- Participate in professional development sessions and networking events.
What you'll need#
- Current student with Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing.
- Educational background in accounting, finance, actuarial science, analytics, statistics, economics, mathematics, or supply chain management.
- Proficiency in MS Excel.
- Strong time-management skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Location & details#
- Location: Orrville, Ohio.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Work Modality: Hybrid, requiring a minimum of 9 days onsite per month.
- Compensation: Paid internship, $19 to $24.50 per hour depending on academic year completed at the start of the program.
