About the role#
The Hanover is hiring an intern for our Marine team. This is a full-time, 10-week summer program designed to give students practical experience in the insurance industry. You will work alongside underwriters and associates, gaining insight into our business while contributing to real projects. This position is based in Worcester, Massachusetts, and follows a hybrid work schedule.
What you'll do#
- Support underwriting functions by working with underwriters, technicians, and associates.
- Assist with underwriting transactions, agency relationships, and compliance documentation.
- Gather key data and follow up on outstanding issues.
- Perform line of business analyses to evaluate specific accounts.
- Create and deliver a final presentation for management and leadership at the end of the summer.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelors or advanced degree program, preferably in Risk Management, Insurance, or Business.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Ability to commit to a full-time 10-week program.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with internal and external partners.
- A service-oriented mindset with high responsiveness.
- An entrepreneurial approach to problem solving.
- Marketing and sales orientation.
