About the role#
The Hanover Insurance Group is hiring an Automation Intern for the summer of 2027. This full-time, 10-week program offers students the chance to work on business projects, test their skills, and gain professional experience. You will work on-site in Worcester, Massachusetts.
What you'll do#
- Design and code automations for processes that span multiple applications and systems.
- Develop automations for lower to medium complexity projects based on specifications from the Automation Project Team.
- Interact directly with business customers to provide data and support.
- Analyze performance metrics and KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Create reports and trend analyses for key stakeholders.
- Present your summer accomplishments to management and leadership at the end of the program.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor or advanced degree program, preferably in Computer Science or a technical field.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Advanced knowledge of Python and solid knowledge of SQL.
- Ability to read and understand process and data flow diagrams.
- Experience integrating and evaluating large, complex data sets.
- Comfort turning raw data into meaningful information.
- Strong communication skills to present technical details to stakeholders.
- Awareness of Artificial Intelligence technologies and software automation is preferred.

- Compensation: USD 26 to 32 per hour.
