About the role#
The Hanover Insurance Group is hiring a Summer 2027 intern for the Risk Solutions Field team. This full-time, 10-week program offers field experience in insurance risk solutions. You will work with consultants to support initiatives that improve risk analysis and safety mitigation. This position is based in Worcester, Massachusetts, and operates on a hybrid schedule. A housing stipend is provided for the duration of the summer program.
What you'll do#
- Research and apply technical information to support Risk Solutions service efforts.
- Join experienced staff on co-surveys to learn technical and consulting skills.
- Assist field consultants with pre-visit preparation and account research.
- Develop account loss trend analyses.
- Follow up with customers to discuss recommended services and track the status of open recommendations in the loss control system.
- Assist Technical Directors and AVPs with assigned projects.
- Complete a Capstone project and present your findings to senior management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelors or advanced degree program.
- Preferred fields of study include Fire Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Safety Management, Environmental Health, or Insurance.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Ability to commit to a full-time, 10-week program.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
