About the role#
We are looking for a detail-oriented Co-op to join our Environmental Health and Safety team. You will gain hands-on experience supporting environmental compliance, industrial safety, risk management, and injury-reduction initiatives within our manufacturing environment. You will work alongside cross-functional partners to strengthen compliance programs, identify risks, and improve documentation while promoting safety best practices throughout the brewery.
What you'll do#
- Monitor compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
- Conduct environmental audits and inspections to identify noncompliance and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare and submit required environmental reports.
- Maintain and update environmental compliance documentation, including permits and inspection records.
- Assist with environmental incident investigations and develop mitigation strategies.
- Perform serious injury and fatality (SIF) analyses in production areas and document findings.
- Audit Safe Work permits and review equipment-specific lockout/tagout (LOTO) documentation.
- Create and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for safety and compliance.
- Participate in the development of employee environmental training programs.
- Partner with various departments to promote environmental awareness and operational best practices.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field.
- Must remain enrolled in your program upon completion of the co-op.
- Strong attention to detail and an interest in industrial safety.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to document findings clearly and collaborate with teams in a manufacturing setting.
- Coursework or experience related to environmental regulations, safety, or manufacturing operations is a plus.
- Familiarity with audits, regulatory reporting, SOP development, or data analysis is helpful.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time, on-site position located in Breinigsville, Pennsylvania.
- The program runs for six months, from January 4, 2027, through June 25, 2027.
