About the role#
This co-op position supports sensory evaluation programs to ensure product quality and consistency. You will gain hands-on experience in sensory science, laboratory operations, data analysis, and quality assurance. You will work alongside the Sensory, Quality, Brewing, Packaging, and Operations teams to generate insights that support business decisions and continuous improvement.
What you'll do#
- Lead sensory panel activities including sample collection, testing creation, execution, and data analysis.
- Support discrimination testing, descriptive analysis, lexicon development, and program administration.
- Communicate sensory findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Maintain laboratory organization, cleanliness, and compliance with procedures.
- Manage inventory of sensory supplies, consumables, and testing materials.
- Support equipment maintenance, calibration, and lab readiness.
- Analyze sensory data, identify trends, and support reporting and dashboard development.
- Participate in process optimization, SOP development, and program enhancements.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and investigations through sensory evaluation.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Brewing, Packaging, Innovation, and Operations teams.
- Participate in team meetings and project discussions.
- Contribute to projects that connect sensory science with product quality and consumer experience.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program (Brewing, Psychology, Food Science & Technology, Biology, Chemistry, Statistics, Chemical Engineering, or related).
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Strong scientific foundation with an interest in sensory science, quality assurance, or manufacturing.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Previous sensory, laboratory, or brewery operations experience is preferred.
- Experience with Compusense, XLSTAT, or other statistical analysis software is a plus.
- Must remain enrolled in school upon completion of the co-op.

- Location: Milton, Delaware.
- Term: Winter 2027 to Summer 2027 (January 4, 2027, through June 25, 2027).
- Modality: Full-time, on-site, five days per week.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
