About the role#
This is a full-time internship for Summer 2027 based in Lakeville, Massachusetts. You will work on projects related to Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA), with the expectation to present your findings at the end of the term. The role involves a mix of on-site work and remote flexibility.
What you'll do#
- Engage in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and the development of Corrective Actions and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Perform risk assessments for products, processes, and ingredients.
- Conduct ingredient and product testing alongside experimental design and data analysis.
- Analyze Key Process Indicators (KPIs) and process performance metrics.
- Evaluate current CAPA processes and documentation practices to create standardized templates and job aids.
- Develop a CAPA training program for plant and functional teams.
- Review current ingredient risk assessment methodologies against industry best practices.
- Develop recommendations for enhancing risk-profiling tools and processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master’s Degree or PhD program in Food Science, Food Microbiology, Food Chemistry, or a related field.
- Knowledge of HACCP, cGMPs, and the FSMA Preventive Controls for Human Food Rule.
- Ability to work independently as a self-motivated, organized individual.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with a project-oriented mindset.
