About the role#
As a Security Operations Technician Intern, you will support the Information Systems department at Texas Farm Bureau. You will gain hands-on experience across several functional areas, including job scheduling, security access management, mainframe operations, and code migration. This role focuses on learning and applying software tools to maintain infrastructure and resolve technical issues.
What you'll do#
- Learn to use PC, mainframe, and web applications to complete assigned tasks.
- Manage job scheduling, data balancing, and application controls.
- Monitor security access to infrastructure and data repositories.
- Run and monitor mainframe applications while detecting and reporting malfunctions.
- Manage production path migrations and test environment availability.
- Update and resolve Helpdesk incidents and requests.
- Assist in researching, developing, and deploying operational solutions.
- Communicate with vendors and users to resolve problems.
- Create task lists and report status on ongoing work.
- Assist in training end users as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Associate degree program or higher at an accredited school.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with both customers and peers.
- Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to learn and expand your technical skill set.
- Experience with the following is preferred: CICS, TSO/SDSF, Vanguard/RACF, Active Directory, SailPoint IIQ, TWS/IWS, RTC/UCD/UCR, and Silk Central.
Location & details#
- Location: Waco, Texas.
- This is an on-site, full-time internship.
- This position is paid.
- You must be able to lift up to 30 lbs and work in an office environment with periods of sitting and concentration.
- The role may require occasional long or irregular hours, after-hours problem resolution, and travel.
