About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in agronomy field work and operations. You will work under the direction of location management to learn the foundation of the industry and prepare for a future career. You will also complete an operational project focused on improving business efficiencies.
What you'll do#
- Assist with general agronomy functions, including crop nutrition and protection product application.
- Perform facility and equipment maintenance and repair.
- Operate field research and crop monitoring technology for scouting.
- Visit FS locations and customers to build professional relationships.
- Handle ordering, receiving, and inventory control tasks.
- Participate in all program activities, including an orientation meeting in Bloomington, IL, and submit weekly activity reports.
- Follow company policies regarding the Code of Conduct, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA, and DOT regulations.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree or certification from a community college, technical college, or university while in good academic standing.
- Ability to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL) and a commercial applicator’s license with required endorsements.
- A valid driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and a valid medical card.
- Ability to travel independently, including overnight stays when necessary.
- Physical ability to lift up to 70 pounds, work in varying weather conditions, and work at elevated heights.
- Willingness to participate in all required training.
