About the role#
The Agronomy Scouting Intern program provides students with hands-on experience in agriculture. You will support the sales team by monitoring crops and helping farmers understand growth and development throughout the season. This role offers exposure to various aspects of the business, including energy, grain, and agronomy operations.
What you'll do#
- Perform crop scouting and visual inspections in the field.
- Inform farmers about crop growth and development.
- Participate in job shadow opportunities and professional development sessions.
- Attend networking events with staff and other interns.
- Present a project of your choice to management.
- Operate ATVs and power tools after receiving training.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment or plans to attend a 2- or 4-year college or university in good academic standing.
- Interest or major in agriculture.
- Ability to walk fields and conduct visual inspections.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Self-managed and goal-oriented work habits.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel independently.
- Ability to work outside normal hours, including weekends.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more and work in extreme weather conditions.
- Must pass a drug screen, background check, and driver’s record check.
