About the role#
This internship focuses on developing your knowledge of insurance functions. You will work alongside underwriting professionals to assist with daily assignments and special projects. This role provides an introduction to the insurance industry and the fundamentals of the underwriting process.
What you'll do#
- Collect, validate, and analyze underwriting data.
- Learn to apply underwriting guidelines and use predictive analytics.
- Attend training sessions and departmental meetings.
- Provide administrative support to the Underwriting team.
- Help with special projects and tasks as assigned by management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor degree program for Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong verbal communication skills for both in-person and phone interactions.
- Ability to interpret information from different business units.
- Capability to organize and complete detailed work either independently or in a team.
- A willingness to learn and grow your professional skills.
Location & details#
- Location: Waco, Texas.
- This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship.
- The position operates on a rolling term basis.
- Physical requirements include extended periods of sitting, the use of office equipment, and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
