About the role#
As a Respiratory Extern in our float pool, you will support our respiratory care team at St. Mary's Medical Center. You will work under the direction of a Respiratory Therapist to ensure our equipment is ready and our patients are comfortable. This is a per diem, on-site role.
What you'll do#
- Assemble, transport, disinfect, calibrate, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment.
- Maintain proper equipment levels across various hospital work areas.
- Assist Respiratory Therapists with procedures and tasks as directed.
- Provide direct support and comfort to patients during their care.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.
- BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- Ability to obtain ACLS and PALS certifications before graduation.
- We prefer candidates who are in their second year of an RT program and have prior healthcare experience.

- This role is located in West Palm Beach, Florida.
- The position is per diem and follows a rotating shift schedule.
