About the role#
Ingredion is hiring a Digital Innovation Intern for the summer of 2027. You will join our R&D team in Bridgewater, New Jersey, to help advance predictive formulation and digital innovation. You will work alongside formulation scientists and innovation leaders to build tools that improve data capture, model development, and scientific research. This is a full-time, paid, hybrid position.
What you'll do#
- Review academic literature and emerging technologies related to machine learning, AI, agentic systems, and computational chemistry.
- Develop digital tools to automate data capture, data quality assessment, and feature extraction.
- Build predictive models and virtual experiment tools that help scientists visualize and explore formulation space.
- Implement AI, LLM, and agentic approaches to assist with scientific knowledge extraction and workflow automation.
- Create technical documentation and user guides for your projects.
- Summarize your progress and present final recommendations and demonstrations at the end of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Progress toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Bioinformatics, or Computational Chemistry.
- Completion of at least two years of coursework if currently an undergraduate.
- Experience using Python or similar data descriptive languages for scientific research, model development, or workflow automation.
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. Please note that Ingredion does not provide visa sponsorship for this role.
- Ability to analyze scientific data and communicate technical results to various audiences.
- Reliable transportation to the facility for on-site work.
