About the role#
We are looking for a Chemical Engineering student to join our team as a Process Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site at our Cedar Rapids, Iowa facility. This is a full-time role requiring 40 hours of work per week.
What you'll do#
- Manage small capital projects from concept and design through to installation, start-up, and closure.
- Apply engineering concepts from your coursework to real-world applications in the field.
- Identify opportunities for growth and cost savings within our manufacturing processes.
- Submit project funding requests and prepare status reports.
- Maintain responsibility for personal safety and the safety of contractors working on your projects.
- Attend daily leadership team meetings and monthly safety meetings.
- Build a teamwork environment with other employees and specialists.
- Present technical information and project updates to the team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Chemical Engineering.
- Completion of at least two years of coursework (sophomore, junior, or non-graduating senior status).
- A minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 is preferred.
- Ability to learn and understand the corn wet milling process.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Clear communication skills with the ability to prepare concise reports and deliver presentations.
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. We do not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
