About the role#
Ingredion is looking for a motivated student to join the Process Engineering group as a Co-Op. You will partner with senior engineers and managers to monitor process conditions, provide engineering support, and implement process improvements. This role focuses on applying concepts learned in the classroom to real field applications to assist in meeting safety, quality, production, and cost goals.
What you'll do#
- Provide technical support to maintenance and operations groups, including troubleshooting and process optimization.
- Conduct process studies and maintain historical data to monitor key operating parameters.
- Manage projects of up to $50k in compliance with safety and engineering standards.
- Work on capital permits, engineering studies, and project documentation.
- Support plant safety professionals on facility safety initiatives to eliminate workplace injuries.
- Assess new technologies and seek approval for concepts that improve process efficiency.
- Conduct process training for team members.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Undergraduate students must have completed at least three years of coursework.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 is preferred.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week.
- Strong communication, analytical problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to learn and understand the corn wet milling process.
- Reliable transportation to and from the facility.
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
