About the role#
This externship provides nursing students with hands-on clinical experience. You will work on a Medical-Surgical unit to build your skills and prepare for a future role as a Registered Nurse. The program includes guided training that follows the scope of practice set by the State Board of Nursing. You must be available to attend the New Hire Orientation on October 9, 2026.
What you'll do#
- Assist the nursing staff with daily patient care activities.
- Help patients with hygiene, mobility, and comfort measures.
- Support nurses during patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment for patients.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient outcomes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited nursing program.
- Successful completion of Fundamentals of Nursing.
- An updated resume.
- An unofficial nursing school transcript verifying your course completion.
Location & details#
- Location: Saint Francis Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee.
- Work schedule: A minimum of two twelve-hour shifts per month, based on departmental needs and your availability.
- Status: Part time, on-site.
