About the role#
The Nurse Extern I program at Saint Francis Hospital provides nursing students with hands-on clinical experience. You will work on a Medical-Surgical unit alongside experienced nurses to build your clinical skills and prepare for your future practice. This is a developmental program that follows the scope of practice outlined by the State Board of Nursing.
What you'll do#
- Assist nursing staff with daily patient care tasks.
- Help patients with hygiene, comfort measures, and mobility.
- Support the team during patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
- Keep the patient environment clean and organized.
- Work with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient outcomes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited nursing program.
- Successful completion of Fundamentals of Nursing.
- An updated resume.
- An unofficial nursing school transcript that verifies your course completion.
- Availability to attend the required New Hire Orientation on October 9, 2026.
Location & details#
- Location: Saint Francis Hospital, Bartlett, Tennessee.
- Status: PRN, requiring a minimum of two 12-hour shifts per month.
- Scheduling is based on your availability and the needs of the department.
