About the role#
INTEGRIS Health is hiring a full-time Advanced Practice Nurse Intern for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Baptist Medical Center. This role is for a student currently enrolled in a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program. You will work interdependently with physicians and nursing staff to support health promotion and disease prevention across the life span. The position operates within a 40-bed NICU unit that manages over 450 infants annually.
What you'll do#
- Assess patient health status, illness conditions, and health risks.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other health team members to coordinate care.
- Assist in the implementation and evaluation of nursing care activities through research and team collaboration.
- Review the total cost of care to ensure service efficiency.
- Educate patients on self-care, normal anatomy, personal hygiene, and preventative health.
- Maintain timely documentation of patient assessments to support changes in care plans.
- Help staff understand and apply Quality Measures to improve patient outcomes.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- 3 years of registered nurse clinical experience in an acute care setting.
- Current Oklahoma RN license or a multistate license from an eNLC member state.
- Current Healthcare provider BLS certification.
- Current NRP certification is required for this neonatal role.
- Must complete APRN education within 4 years of your hiring anniversary.
- National Certification is preferred upon hire and required within 6 months.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbal and written.
