About the role#
St. Luke's University Health Network offers clinical opportunities for current nursing students. You will work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide goal-directed, individualized patient care. This role is part-time and follows a rolling term schedule.
What you'll do#
- Perform physical assessments of patients.
- Provide basic patient care and individual patient education.
- Prepare and administer medications under RN supervision.
- Document care in medical records.
- Assist with discharge planning and prepare patients for transport.
- Receive and give verbal reports on patient status.
- Interact with providers regarding patient conditions.
- Use therapeutic communication with patients and families.
- Maintain professional behavior and composure in stressful situations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a nursing student.
- Criminal background check completed by your school.
- Health history clearances completed by your school.
- A completed Research Review Committee-Student Research Acknowledgement form signed by your school.
