About the role#
The Nurse Transition to Practice Program (TPP) at Kingman Regional Medical Center allows nursing students to perform skilled clinical duties under the supervision of an RN. This program supports your professional development as you progress through your nursing education. You will participate in workshops, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to patient care outcomes.
What you'll do#
- Perform patient assessments and collect clinical data.
- Monitor patient status and obtain specimens under RN supervision.
- Collaborate to identify patient care needs, develop care plans, and implement interventions.
- Provide direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
- Monitor patient responses to treatment and report changes to your supervising RN.
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow infection prevention practices.
- Perform vital sign monitoring and point-of-care testing.
- Conduct hourly rounding and provide mobility assistance.
- Participate in professional development workshops.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proof of enrollment in an accredited RN nursing program.
- Maintenance of a nursing school skills checklist on file with the hospital.
- Current BLS certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
- Completion of specific nursing school semesters based on your program level (Level I through Level IV).
- Ability to maintain good standing and enrollment in your nursing program.
- Capability to lift 50-70 pounds, assist with combined lifts up to 300 pounds, and walk 3 miles per shift.
