About the role#
The Nursing Transition to Practice Program (TPP) at Kingman Regional Medical Center allows nursing students to perform clinical duties under the supervision of a registered nurse. This program supports your transition into professional nursing by providing hands-on experience and professional development workshops. You will work in a clinical environment, contribute to patient care, and participate in career planning activities.
What you'll do#
- Perform patient assessments and collect clinical data.
- Monitor patient status and obtain specimens under RN supervision.
- Collaborate with the care team to identify patient needs and develop care plans.
- Provide direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
- Monitor patient responses to treatment and report changes in condition.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the EHR.
- Follow infection prevention practices and safety protocols.
- Participate in professional development workshops.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current BLS certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
- Proof of enrollment in an accredited RN program (Level I requires 1st semester enrollment; Level II requires completion of 1st semester; Level III requires completion of 2nd semester; Level IV requires completion of 3rd semester).
- Maintain a nursing school skills checklist on file with the hospital.
- Ability to lift 50-70 pounds, assist with combined lifts up to 300 pounds, and walk 3 miles per shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for the duration of a shift.
