About the role#
The Nurse Intern supports patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will assist with essential care tasks to help foster a therapeutic environment. This role focuses on hands-on learning, collaboration with the healthcare team, and providing safe and organized care to support the patient experience.
What you'll do#
- Provide basic patient care within your scope of practice, including monitoring vital signs and assisting with hygiene and comfort.
- Communicate with the care team, report changes in patient conditions, and participate in bedside shift reports.
- Develop clinical skills by seeking feedback and applying practices under the guidance of an RN.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in patient and utility rooms.
- Assist with basic equipment maintenance, such as glucometers, bladder scanners, and scales.
- Perform hourly rounding and provide purposeful patient interactions.
- Document all tasks and observations clearly and accurately.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Nursing program.
- Completion of fundamentals of clinicals in an accredited Nursing program.
- 0-1 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
- CPR certification from the AHA, ARC, or ASHI.
- Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the State Department of Public Safety.
