About the role#
The Nursing Transition to Practice Program (TPP) at Kingman Regional Medical Center allows nursing students to perform skilled clinical duties under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role supports patient recovery and helps students gain hands-on experience while progressing through their nursing education.
What you'll do#
- Perform patient assessments and collect basic clinical data.
- Monitor patient status and obtain specimens under RN supervision.
- Collaborate to identify patient care needs and develop care plans.
- Provide direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
- Monitor patient responses to treatment and report changes to your supervising RN.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
- Follow organizational policies and infection prevention practices.
- Participate in professional development workshops.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proof of enrollment in the first semester of an accredited RN program.
- Maintenance of a nursing school skills checklist on file with the hospital.
- Current BLS certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
- Ability to lift 50-70 pounds and assist in a combined lift of up to 300 pounds.
- Ability to walk 3 miles per shift and stand or walk for 3-5 hours daily.
