About the role#
This 8-month co-op position offers students hands-on experience at a large-scale open-pit mining operation. You will support engineering and capital projects through coordination, data analysis, and cost management. This role provides the opportunity to work alongside multidisciplinary teams to improve safety, design, and operational efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Act as a safety leader by following and promoting all environmental and safety policies.
- Participate in health, safety, and environmental programs.
- Maintain project documentation, update tracking systems, and prepare internal reports.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams on the planning, design, and execution of engineering projects.
- Assist with project coordination on active mine sites, including scope development, scheduling, and progress reporting.
- Support project budgeting, cost estimating, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Help with contractor coordination, procurement, and construction planning.
- Contribute to risk assessments, constructability reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Research and implement new technologies and engineering solutions.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a post-secondary degree in Engineering.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once as a self-starter.
- Comfort working in a multifaceted environment, including working outdoors.
- Ability to operate vehicles in various weather conditions and terrain.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
- A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for the duration of the co-op.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A consistent track record of learning new technologies and platforms quickly.
- Previous technical or engineering experience is an asset.
- Experience with form design, macros, and data analysis is an asset.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Civil3D is an asset.

- Location: Logan Lake, British Columbia, Canada.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Employment Type: Full-time.
- Compensation: CAD $4833 - $5592 per month, determined by experience and competencies.
