About the role#
Elk Valley Resources is hiring an Occupational Health & Hygiene Co-op for the Winter 2027 term. This is a paid, full-time position based on-site in Elkford, British Columbia. You will gain hands-on experience by applying your academic knowledge to real-world mining operations. You will work alongside specialists in the field and have the opportunity to develop your technical skills.
What you'll do#
- Apply academic concepts to active mining operations.
- Track and analyze data to support health and hygiene initiatives.
- Manage project timelines and maintain accurate records.
- Work in an outdoor environment, including operating vehicles across various terrain and weather conditions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree or diploma program in Occupational Hygiene, Occupational and Environmental Health, or Industrial Hygiene.
- A valid Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent, without learner's restrictions.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel, with additional knowledge of PowerPoint and Access.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage multiple projects at once.
- Experience in mining or heavy industry is an asset.

- Term: Winter 2027 (4, 8, or 12 months).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $4,117 - $5,192 CAD per month, based on academic progress and prior experience.
