About the role#
Elk Valley Resources is hiring a Recruitment Co-op student for the Winter 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Sparwood, British Columbia. You will gain hands-on experience in the mining industry while supporting our human resources team with daily recruitment tasks and departmental projects.
What you'll do#
- Support recruitment efforts for hourly positions within our mine operations and maintenance teams.
- Sort and categorize job applications, conduct pre-screens, and coordinate interview schedules.
- Assist with pre-employment requirements, such as reference checks and the onboarding process.
- Represent the company at career fairs and information sessions.
- Collaborate on research and report writing tasks for the human resources department.
- Participate in company health and safety programs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources.
- A valid Class 5 Driver's License or an extra-provincial equivalent.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous experience with HR software is considered an asset.
