About the role#
Sundt Construction is seeking engineering and construction management students for a rolling internship program. This role provides hands-on experience on construction projects and offers exposure to the daily operations required to complete large-scale builds. You will work alongside experienced professionals while contributing to active job sites.
What you'll do#
- Assist with project record keeping, shop drawings, and cost control documentation.
- Help with report preparation, safety inspections, and submittal processing.
- Support surveying, testing, sample collection, and drawing filing.
- Monitor schedules, track inventory, and assist with subcontractor coordination.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and request proposals from vendors.
- Attend bid openings and conferences to take notes and complete forms.
- Conduct site tours for visitors and report on meeting outcomes.
- Perform tasks as a manual laborer, clerk, or technician assistant as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering program.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- A team-oriented mindset and a willingness to handle diverse tasks.
- Curiosity and a strong interest in a career in construction.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including steel-toed shoes, hardhats, and safety glasses.
- Capability to stand, walk, or perform manual tasks for the duration of a shift.
