About the role#
Sundt Construction is hiring a Heavy Industrial Intern for an engineering role. This position is for students currently enrolled in a four-year Civil, Mechanical, or Construction Management program. You will work on-site in South Carolina, gaining experience on industrial projects while participating in the day-to-day operations of our construction teams.
What you'll do#
- Assist with project record keeping, shop drawings, and cost control records.
- Prepare reports, log and process submittals, and conduct safety inspections.
- Support surveying, testing, sample collection, and drawing filing.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and contact vendors and sub-contractors for proposals.
- Monitor schedules and inventory while assisting with timekeeping.
- Attend bid openings and conferences to document proceedings.
- Perform various tasks as a manual laborer, helper, or technician assistant.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year Engineering or Construction Management program.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and hardhats.
- A willingness to take on challenges and work in a team environment.
