About the role#
This role sits within the Group Retirement Services (GRS) Operations team. You will work with leaders and business partners to support projects, process improvements, and change initiatives. The goal is to ensure teams have effective processes, clear documentation, and practical best practices that support client service across Savings, Accumulation, and Payout Annuities.
What you'll do#
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and process redesign across GRS Operations, including documenting current-state processes and identifying gaps.
- Work with business partners to understand operational needs and gather information for process solutions.
- Represent GRS Operations on projects and change initiatives, including digital, regulatory, and product changes.
- Assist with stakeholder communication by tracking progress, documenting decisions, and clarifying expectations.
- Bridge the gap between Operations and IT by documenting business requirements and validating process impacts.
- Manage change activities such as updating training materials, creating communications, and maintaining process documentation.
- Create and maintain knowledge management content, procedures, and job aids.
- Support GRS and Payout Annuity tools by documenting processes and identifying enhancement opportunities.
- Assist with recurring operational activities including RRSP deadline readiness and audit support.
What you'll need#
- An undergraduate degree in Business, or an equivalent degree, college diploma, or related work experience.
- Previous experience supporting business analysis, project coordination, process improvement, operations, or change management.
- Business analysis skills, including the ability to document requirements, identify impacts, and communicate clearly.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate issues to support timely resolution.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work across multiple initiatives.
- Strong communication skills, including active listening and writing clearly.
- Proficiency with Visio, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel, and Word.
- A commitment to quality and strong attention to detail.
- Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or other related accreditation is an asset.
- Familiarity with Sun Life and GRS Operations systems and products is an asset.

- This is a full-time, paid position.
- The role is based in Waterloo or Toronto, Ontario.
- We operate on a hybrid work model.
