About the role#
The Real Estate Portfolio Management group at HOOPP is looking for a student to join the Real Estate Data and Analysis (REDA) team for an 8 or 12-month internship. This role supports the real estate investment management team by providing analytics, reporting, and data validation using tools like Taliance and Tableau.
What you'll do#
- Support the production of the semi-annual Real Estate Forecast by loading and validating valuation and underwriting models.
- Model debt and investment ownership structures in Taliance.
- Assist with monthly investment Capacity Analysis and the creation of capital Pacing Plans.
- Ensure input data accuracy and review final outputs.
- Improve existing Taliance import models and integrate them into standard underwriting templates.
- Develop documentation for the Taliance setup and modeling process.
- Verify and validate monthly data loads.
- Refine Taliance modeling, including mechanisms for debt true-ups and LP cash calls.
- Maintain BI reports, including the Executive Dashboard, Asset Class Dashboards, and Return Attribution reports.
- Provide ad-hoc analytical support to the team.
What you'll need#
- Current student or recent graduate in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or Mathematics.
- Practical knowledge of Real Estate concepts, specifically Discounted Cashflow Analysis.
- Understanding of Real Estate Finance, including balance sheets, financial statements, and cost-to-market value comparisons.
- Advanced Excel modeling skills.
- Familiarity with tools such as Argus Enterprise, Taliance, Tableau, SAP HANA, Snowflake, or SQL is preferred.
- Ability to process large datasets, identify trends, and report findings.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present output to stakeholders.
- Experience working in a team setting.
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to work with minimal supervision once directed.
