About the role#
The AI and Transformation team builds data capabilities for Lazard Asset Management. This role focuses on the investment platform, including research and portfolio management. You will work on AI products that change how investment professionals research companies and make decisions. This position sits closer to product than to pure engineering. You will write code and reason about data while focusing on how tools are used in practice. You will spend time with portfolio managers, research analysts, and technical teams.
What you'll do#
- Identify where AI can improve the investment research process by working with portfolio managers and research analysts.
- Define requirements and build prototypes for AI-native research tools.
- Develop agentic workflows, retrieval systems for filings and transcripts, and structured extraction of financial data.
- Write code for data pipelines, evaluation harnesses, and prompt iteration.
- Analyze market data to test if tools improve investment outcomes.
- Translate investment workflows into clear product specifications for engineering teams.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Advanced Degree in Financial Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong finance background and an interest in how data informs product decisions.
- Solid understanding of data science and engineering principles.
- Ability to translate between technical, financial, and business stakeholders.
- Familiarity with financial modeling, statistics, or data engineering tools.
- Prior internship experience in finance, such as banking, fintech, or asset management.

- Compensation: The prorated salary is approximately 100,000 USD for the 10-week duration.
