About the role#
The Intern Analyst position supports the pension administration team at University Pension Plan Ontario. You will work on cyclical tasks and projects that ensure our members receive accurate pension information and benefits. This role involves collaboration with internal teams, including pension data, policy, and actuarial staff. You will gain exposure to the operations of a sector-wide pension plan while working on meaningful, real-world tasks.
What you'll do#
- Support annual statement production and pension indexation.
- Prepare and review complex or non-routine member benefit calculations.
- Develop and test new calculation tools.
- Assist with data cleansing, proof of life, and missing member initiatives.
- Collaborate on various pension services projects and administrative tasks.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least your second year in a business, finance, or actuarial science program.
- Strong numeric skills and a logical, detail-oriented approach to your work.
- Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to set up and manipulate complex spreadsheets.
- Clear communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A resourceful, self-starting attitude and the ability to work well within a team.
- Professionalism and integrity in handling sensitive member data.
- Experience with SQL, Mail Merge, or Excel VBA is considered an asset.
- Prior experience in the pension or actuarial industry is an asset.

- Term: Winter 2027 (January to April).
- Location: Toronto, Ontario.
- Modality: Hybrid, with approximately two days per week in the office.
- Employment type: Full-time paid internship.
