About the role#
This internship offers a chance to build relationships with employees in an industrial setting. You will work alongside occupational health staff to support the health and safety of the workforce. Unlike traditional clinical rotations, you will interact with the same employees regularly, allowing you to track their health progress and provide consistent care.
What you'll do#
- Assist with employee health screenings, medical surveillance, and pre-employment evaluations.
- Support occupational health staff with basic care, first aid, and wellness education.
- Conduct supervised testing and documentation to ensure compliance with safety and health standards.
- Help track workplace injuries, worker compensation cases, and related medical records.
- Participate in health and safety initiatives, employee training, and compliance activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a nursing program, either ASN or BSN.
- Basic knowledge of patient care and clinical procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow strict compliance protocols.
- Organized approach with attention to detail and documentation.
