About the role#
As a Diesel Tech Intern, you will gain hands-on experience with the equipment United Rentals offers. This role supports our branch operations and provides a path toward future service technician positions upon completion of your degree or certification. This is a full-time, paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Learn the various types of equipment in our fleet and how they are used.
- Perform manual and maintenance tasks to keep branch operations running.
- Assist seasoned mechanics with daily service and repair work.
- Provide customer service to those visiting our branch.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in a technical degree or certification program related to mechanical engineering, diesel, or automotive fields.
- A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a foundational understanding of tools and equipment.
- Self-motivation and a sense of urgency.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
