About the role#
As an Intern Diesel Mechanic, you will gain hands-on experience with the equipment United Rentals provides to its customers. This internship is designed to help you develop the skills necessary to transition into a full-time service technician role upon completion of your degree or certification. You will support branch operations while working alongside experienced mechanics.
What you'll do#
- Learn the various types of equipment in the fleet and their specific applications.
- Perform manual and maintenance tasks to support daily branch operations.
- Provide labor assistance to seasoned mechanics during repairs and maintenance.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to all clients.
- Challenge yourself to grow your technical skills and work toward future service technician roles.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED and current enrollment in a technical degree or certification program.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and foundational knowledge of tools and equipment.
- Self-motivated mindset with a strong sense of urgency.
- Superior communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.
