About the role#
As an Intern Diesel Mechanic, you will gain hands-on experience with the equipment United Rentals offers. You will work alongside experienced mechanics to learn maintenance tasks and branch operations. What you'll do#
- Learn the different types of equipment in our fleet and how they are used.
- Assist seasoned mechanics with manual and maintenance tasks.
- Support branch operations through daily labor assistance.
- Provide helpful service to our customers.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in a technical degree or certification program, such as Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- A strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with basic tools.
- A self-motivated approach and a sense of urgency in your work.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- This is a paid, full-time internship with a rolling start date.
- The position is on-site at our Charlotte and Mooresville, North Carolina locations.
- This role is classified as safety-sensitive.
